Polytechnical Museum – A Treasure Trove of Technology

The Polytechnical Museum is housed in an imposing building from the mid-19th century. It was built in the neo-Old Russia style by the Moscow architect Ippolito Antonovitsch Monighetti.

Opening hours: Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm
Closed: Mondays, last Thursday of every month

The interior, however, contains much that is futuristic. Besides old clocks, cameras and cars, it exhibits space capsules. The numerous diagrams, models and experimental apparati convey a good impression of the development of Russian science and technology in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Polytechnical Museum is a favourite destination for Russian school outings.
