The Trinity Gate Tower (Troitskaya bashnya)

The tower was named after the Trinity Monastery that ran a mission nearby. The Patriarchs and the Tsar’s family passed through the gate in the tower to enter the Kremlin.

Today, the tower is the only entry into the Kremlin for tourists. Tours of the Kremlin always start from Kutafya tower outside the Kremlin walls, from where a bridge leads to the Trinity Gate tower, which at 76 meters is the highest of the Kremlin’s towers.

After passing through the gate, on your right hand side you will see the Soviet Congress Palace. The huge former congress hall now stages concerts and entertainment events.

The second public entrance is located in the southwest corner in the form of the Borovitskaya Tower. This entrance is only for those intending to visit the Diamond Fund.
