Fiat's aims for bigger market share with new Russian plant

Turin / Yelabuga. Fiat Group Automobiles and its Russian partner will open a new plant in Russia in hopes they can carve out a bigger share of that country's booming foreign car market. A company executive told Automotive News Europe (ANE) that the new factory will make about 60,000 units of the Fiat Linea lower-medium sedan each year.

Moscow. Sukhoi’s Russian regional jet Superjet-100 will be displayed to the public for the first time on Wednesday in Konsomolsk-on-Amur. The jet will mark Sukhoi’s debut in civil aviation.

Sydney. Australia intends to supply Russia with uranium over the next thirty years. One billion dollars of atomic fuel will be delivered annually. Both parties assure that it will only be used for civilian purposes.

Russia confirms hitches in delivering oil to Germany

Moscow. Russia has admitted fluctuations in its oil pipeline deliveries to Germany. But state-owned pipeline operator Transneft denied responsibility, alledging that Lukoil was to blame for the drop in supplies.

Hyatt builds its first luxury hotel in the Ural region

Ekaterinburg. The Hyatt luxury hotel chain is currently building its first hotel in the Ural region in regional capital Ekaterinburg. It will be the second Hyatt hotel in Russia. The $107 million hotel is intended to host the meeting of the Shanghai group in 2009.
